Bar & Bat Mitzvah Photographer Cleveland
Hi, I’m Kobi, a Cleveland-based photographer passionate about capturing the joy, tradition, and coming-of-age spirit of Bar and Bat Mitzvahs.
My goal is to capture lasting memories that tell the unique story of your child’s special day. I work in the greater Cleveland area as well as travel for destination events.
Telling Your Story Through Photos
I believe in a natural, documentary-style approach.
I’ll capture the genuine emotions and unscripted moments throughout the day, from the family portraits and the meaningful ceremony to the unforgettable hora (the traditional celebratory dance).
You’ll have a treasure trove of cherished memories to look back on with a smile for years to come.
Your Vision, My Expertise
I’m dedicated to working closely with you to understand your vision and preferences.
Whether you prefer a classic and timeless aesthetic or a more modern and vibrant style, I’ll work with you to ensure your child’s personality and the overall atmosphere of the day shine through in the photographs.

Booking & Planning
+ When should we start planning and book our photographer?
Planning typically begins 12-24 months in advance, starting with the synagogue date. I recommend booking your photographer and venue as soon as that date is confirmed.
+ What is your experience with Jewish traditions and customs?
I have been a professional photographer since 2012. As a photographer who had a Bar Mitzvah myself, I am personally familiar with the significance of the Aliyah, the Torah reading, and the specific etiquette of the synagogue. Please note: I do not work on Shabbat, so I typically capture ceremony moments during a rehearsal or a weekday service.
+ How do we handle synagogue restrictions regarding photography?
Every synagogue has unique rules about photography during the service. I am experienced at working within these boundaries, whether that means shooting from the back of the sanctuary without flash or scheduling a “formal” session at the Bimah earlier in the week to capture those close-up Torah shots safely and respectfully.
Style & Ceremony
+ What is your photography style for the service and party?
My style is a blend of candid photojournalism and artistic portraiture. During the ceremony, I am a “silent observer,” capturing the gravity and emotion of the milestone. At the party, I shift to a high-energy, “paparazzi” feel to catch the Hora, the candle lighting, and the excitement on the dance floor.
+ Do you offer a pre Mitzvah portrait session?
Yes, I highly recommend a pre Mitzvah session. This allows the child to get comfortable in front of the lens without the pressure of the big day. We can use these portraits for “Sign-in Boards,” table decor, or a digital montage at the reception.
+ What if my child is nervous about being the center of attention?
This is very common. My approach is low pressure and patient. I know how to guide them through posing in a way that feels natural rather than forced, helping them feel confident before they step up to the Bimah.
Logistics & Reception
+ How many hours of coverage do we need?
I recommend a minimum of 3 hours for basic coverage, but most families opt for 6–8 hours to cover the morning formal portraits, the service, and the full evening party. We can customize the duration based on your specific venue and guest count.
+ How do you handle low-light parties and high-energy dance floors?
I am fully equipped with professional low-light gear and off-camera lighting. This ensures that the photos of the Hora and the dance floor are crisp, vibrant, and capture the movement without being blurry or dark. I also carry backup equipment to every event to ensure no moment is missed.
Delivery & Products
+ When will we receive our photos and what is included?
You will receive your professionally edited digital gallery within 2-3 weeks. I deliver high-resolution JPEGs that are perfect for sharing and printing. I also offer high-quality heirloom prints and albums, which are a beautiful way to preserve the Mitzvah project and ceremony for the next generation.
