Questions?
+ What file format and resolution do you recommend?
Just send me the highest resolution file you have with no filters or changes. I accept all standard image formats. If you are a pro, let me know your exact specifications and color profiles when you upload.
+ How many megapixels does my file need for a large print?
Megapixels aren’t everything. We live in a day of high-resolution files, but print quality depends heavily on your viewing distance and use case. For example, even a 12MP image looks perfectly sharp on a massive billboard because people drive by at a distance. If you are worried about a file’s quality, I can check it for you.
+ Do you adjust my colors or contrast before printing?
If nedded, I personally review every single file. Basic adjustments like light balancing, exposure tweaks, and optimization for accurate skin tones are completely included in the standard print cost. That is exactly why you pay an independent studio printer instead of using a fully automated lab.
+ Is retouching or old photo restoration included?
Basic color and light balancing are free with your print. Advanced digital retouching, editing, or deep historical photo restoration of damaged pictures are extra add-on services that require a custom quote.
+ Do I get a proof before you print a large order?
If you are ordering a massive volume of prints or a large format custom piece, I will happily test out a small physical proof or test strip for you to review. This ensures the contrast and colors perfectly match your expectations before running the full job.
+ How do I order standalone prints if I didn’t book a shoot?
You don’t need to book a session to print here. Just upload your high-resolution files through the form above, include your contact information, and leave any size or finish notes. If I need any more details to get started, I will reach out to you directly.
+ Is there a minimum order amount for printing?
Yes, there is a strict $15 studio order minimum for standalone printing services.
+ Can I order oversized statement prints like 24×36 or larger?
Absolutely. I help my customers with large wall pieces all the time. My in-house setup prints up to 13 inch wide, so any prints larger than that are custom quoted. I can coordinate and print anything you need, from massive statement fine art sheets to life-size cutouts.
+ Can you print on specialty media like canvas or metallic stocks?
Yes, I can print on canvas wraps, metallic-base papers, or heavy textured watercolor rag sheets. Because these are specialty materials, I custom-quote them individually based on your specific project and job volume.
+ What paper finish do you recommend for headshots vs. art prints?
It comes down to final use and personal preference. Actor headshots look best on Smooth Matte or Classic Luster so they don’t reflect harsh casting room lights. Family photo albums look great with deep colors on a Glossy finish. I will always help you pick the right fit for your project.
+ Do you offer limited-edition numbering or artist signatures?
Sure. I work directly with local fine artists and creators to accommodate custom structural needs, limited exhibition print runs, custom borders, and formatting for certificates of authenticity.
+ How do I bundle print packages with a portrait shoot or headshot session?
Just ask me about it! I build custom print bundles and wall gallery packages directly into every lifestyle, family, or portrait session. If you book a photo session with me, you will also receive an absolute discount on your final physical print orders.
+ How many actor headshots should I print at once?
It depends entirely on how many acting calls you anticipate going on over the next few months. I generally recommend starting with a minimum batch of 25 or 50 prints to unlock the best bulk rate pricing. Remember, if you know you need more later, ordering a larger batch up front always saves you money.
+ Can I reorder the exact same headshot setup later without extra setup fees?
Yes. I save your exact layout files, border dimensions, and name font details directly in my system. You can come back later and reorder the exact same headshot run with absolutely zero setup fees.
+ Can you scan and replicate old family photos or physical paintings?
Yes. Bring your physical paintings, vintage negatives, or old family pictures right into the studio. I can provide high-definition digital archive scans. When reproducing old photos, my setup can typically enlarge the original print up to twice its physical size while keeping great clarity.
+ How long will my archival prints last before fading?
I use professional high stability inks and premium paper stocks designed to resist fading and yellowing for 50 to 100+ years under normal conditions. For best results, store loose sheets in albums, frame them behind glass, and keep them out of direct sunlight.
+ Do you offer custom mats, premium wood framing, and UV glass?
Yes. My baseline framing upgrade covers clean, modern gallery frames. If you need premium custom wood framing, stylized mat borders, or specialized UV-protective glass to shield against sunlight, I offer those upgrades as well.
+ Can I bring an already printed photo to the studio just for custom framing?
We can do both. You can bring an external print into the studio to be fitted for a custom frame down the road, or we can handle the printing and framing together in one smooth step.
+ What is your policy on last-minute rush orders?
If you have a sudden gallery deadline, an event, or need a last-minute gift, contact me directly and I will do my absolute best to accommodate you. Just please don’t always count on me being available last-minute, as it depends entirely on my current queue.
+ Do you ship prints outside of the Cleveland area?
Yes, I can safely package and ship your prints anywhere. However, I always strongly prefer local studio pickup right here in Cleveland Heights. Pickup lets you inspect the physical colors in person and eliminates any shipping risks or handling fees.
+ Why choose Kobi.Studio over mass-production online labs or big box stores?
I am a small, independent, locally owned studio. I take individual care of your files and want to sell honest, high quality products. In a digital age where people rarely print their work, I want to make sure that when you actually do print a physical memory, you get something beautiful that will last for generations.
