Newborn & Baby Photography

Newborn photography should be as natural and calm as the first days of a child’s life. I bring the studio to you, working in the baby’s most comfortable environment your home. This allows for a creative, relaxed atmosphere that clinical studio settings simply can’t match.

How I Work

My approach is focused on capturing your baby’s true personality. I don’t use stiff, forced poses. instead, I capture candid and authentic moments. I believe the best photos use items that actually belong to your family.

I ask parents to source their own meaningful blankets, heirlooms, or favorite toys to keep the session authentic to your identity.

1. What is the ideal age for newborn photos?
The best time to shoot is when the baby is between 5 and 14 days old. During this “sweet spot,” babies are still very sleepy and flexible, which allows me to carefully shape and stage them into those classic, peaceful positions. If your baby is older, don’t worry we can still get great shots, but they may be more “awake” and alert.

2. What is Lifestyle Newborn Photography?
Lifestyle photography is about capturing your family’s real identity in an unscripted way. I come to your home in Cleveland or Cleveland Heights to document the baby in their natural environment your arms, the nursery, or on your favorite heirloom quilt.

3. Why should I choose an in-home session over a studio?
The biggest benefit is comfort for the mother and baby. You don’t have to pack a heavy diaper bag or stress about travel. Everything you need is already at your fingertips, and the baby remains calm in a familiar space.

4. When should I book my session?
I recommend booking during your second trimester. Since I only take a limited number of sessions to ensure flexibility for early or late arrivals, reaching out early secures your spot on my calendar around your due date.

5. How do you handle newborn safety and staging?
Safety is my technical priority. I am trained in safe handling and never leave a baby unsupported. While the environment is relaxed, I am an expert at shaping and staging the baby to catch the perfect light and angle. I guide the baby into natural, beautiful positions while constantly monitoring their breathing and comfort.

6. How long does a typical baby photo session take?
My sessions are unhurried and usually last 2 to 4 hours. Most of this time is dedicated to feeding, soothing, and the careful process of staging the baby. A relaxed pace is the secret to professional results.

7. What should we wear for our family portraits?
Think neutral and timeless. Soft tones like creams, tans, or light greys work best. I recommend light layers because I keep the house warm to keep the baby comfortable while being staged.

8. Do I need to buy my own props?
I encourage parents to source meaningful items from their own lives a hand-knit blanket or a favorite childhood toy. This keeps the photos authentic. I use my technical gear and experience to stage these items into a professional composition.

9. What if my baby is fussy?
This is a common worry, but there’s no need to stress. If they are truly upset, we stop, feed, and soothe. Once they are calm, I resume shaping the shot to capture their personality, whether they are “milk drunk” or wide awake.

10. When will we receive our final edited images?
You will receive a private online gallery of edited, high-resolution images within 2–3 weeks. From there, you can download your files or order archival-grade prints to preserve your family’s history.
