Booking & Timing

+ When is the best time to book and take my senior portraits?

I recommend booking at least 2–3 months in advance. Most seniors prefer the summer before senior year or early fall (September–October) to take advantage of the Cleveland foliage. If you want a “Spring Senior” vibe with flowers and graduation energy, April and May are ideal, but keep your yearbook deadlines in mind!

+ How long does a session last and what if the weather is bad?

A typical session lasts between 1 to 2 hours, which allows us enough time for outfit changes and moving between nearby locations. Since many senior sessions are outdoors, I always maintain backup dates for rescheduling in case of typical Cleveland rain or extreme weather.

Style & Preparation

+ What is your photography style for seniors?

My approach is a blend of artistic portraiture and natural lifestyle. Unlike the standard, stiff “yearbook” photo, I want these to reflect your personality. We use professional lighting and technical lens choices to create an “editorial” look that feels like it belongs in a magazine, while keeping the poses natural and approachable.

+ What should I wear and can I bring props or pets?

I recommend bringing 2–3 outfits: one casual, one “dressed up,” and one that represents your interests (like a sports uniform or academic gear). Absolutely bring your props whether it’s an instrument, sports equipment, or even your dog. These elements make the session uniquely yours.

+ I’m nervous and don’t know how to pose can you help?

Don’t worry, almost everyone feels a little awkward at first. I provide full direction on posing, from where to put your hands to how to tilt your head to catch the most flattering light. My goal is to make the session feel like a fun hangout rather than a chore, so your genuine smile comes through.

Locations & Logistics

+ Where should we do the session?

Cleveland offers incredible variety. We can go urban at The Arcade or East 4th, classic at the Cleveland Museum of Art, or natural at Edgewater Park or the Metroparks. We can even do a mix of locations to give your gallery a diverse look. I’m always happy to scout new spots that match your specific “vibe.”

+ What time of day do you typically shoot?

For outdoor sessions, I prefer “Golden Hour” the hour before sunset or the hour after sunrise. The light is soft, warm, and incredibly flattering. If we are shooting in-studio or in high-contrast urban areas, we have more flexibility with timing.

Delivery & Results

+ How many photos do I get and how are they delivered?

You will receive a private online gallery of high-resolution, professionally edited JPEGs. These are delivered within 2–3 weeks of our session. I include standard retouching and color correction to ensure you look your absolute best.

+ Can I use these for my graduation announcements?

Yes! The high-resolution files are perfect for printing announcements, “Thank You” cards, or large wall portraits for your home. You have full personal use rights to share them on social media and I offer prints if you are interested.
